Thunderbolt Complaint

Not sure where to post this so Verizon will get it, but hopefully they will read it.

I upgraded from an original Droid. Wish I hadn't. This thing has so many bugs it's scary. The store clerk says there hasn't been an upgrade since it was released.

They stuck quite a few apps on here that are impossible to remove! If you  can't remove them, you should AT LEAST be able to shut them off so they won't run wasting processor and battery life. I don't want a stocks app, vz navigator, Flicker, Peep or VCast Apps.

Also, the volume level of the phone ringing and notifications is very low.

Also, when in the car dock, sometimes the screen will stay on, sometimes it goes black. If it has power and in the dock, it shouldn't go to sleep, just dim. My droid did this great.

It duplicated all my contacts when I got it from the store. I'm still removing duplicates.

For being such a large company and wanting to be competitive, Verizon drops the ball A LOT.

The only good thing about this phone at this point is the large screen. Maybe once we get 4g in my area this year, the speed will outway the bugs, but not now it isn't

I am in the Chicago 4G area.  Sorry and sad to say the speed does not come close to outweighing the bugs. I bought my Thunderbolt on Friday, May 6, and the battery has drained every 2 to 2.5 hours. 

I came to this forum hoping to find a way to remove the unwanted apps that are draining my battery, but since I’ve learned that they cannot be removed, I will be returning the Thunderbolt to Verizon Monday, May 9. 

What a shame!  The Thunderbolt is a wonderful phone, but useless with a drained battery!

i think your 2.5 is a little off, when i first got the phone, it would drain in about 7 hours on decent use.  But thats before i went to another forum i cant mention here and tweeked my Tbolt.  Now i get about 16 hours on medium use before i get into the red.

Also, is this your first or second android?

Over time the more times u charge it the better it lasts. The new update just came out and its suppose to help with connection issues to save battery the more times its looking for signal more battery u use. Also avoiding powering it down all time. I lose 10 - 15% sometimes. I get 6 in 3g. Dim screen would help. There's a task killer under settings applications then running apps or manage apps. Putting it to sleep after 30 sec will help. Having reg wallpaper not live wallpaper.
Megan do u have 4g? 4g drains a lot.

U can change the ring volume with the key or settings to increase it specifically to the tune or kind of tone I think.

what no upgrade in 2 months? btw there is a rather large one in the works

 Every phone you purchase no matter the carrier will have advertising. Just like your old phone. None of them are affecting your processor or battery life.

Are you wearing earplugs when the notifcations go off? even at 50% it is loud.

Did you add a facebook? or do contact transfer + sync with outlook or something? This seems odd

Have you tried Menu -> Settings -> Sound -> Pocket Mode (about halfway down)?

With that checked, the volume approaches rediculously loud.

The Nexus series is an exception to phones having bloatware, at least the ones that have already been released.  I'm not sure if the Sprint version will be different.

I agree with the ball dropping sort of. They get upset sometimes @ cs if u ask the tough questions. Pass the buck but im trying to see.the light at the end of the tunnel thinking how great this phone was and now its different after the crash happening. I'm paying for services I should be able to know more then I'm getting. Prices for mobile Hotspot. They have had least a month. I know I'm going to only have a partial month plus another month. Same thing with insurance ugh. System glitches. Can we have some time without a glitch.

I was told when the phone boots up it boots up all that stuff. That plus looking for 4g even if u don't have it. That lowers battery. Everything is going on u know. How can this not affect everything?
