I've followed this thread for some time and I find it ironic that the only feature that someone complements about this phone is its aluminum case.  Is this what all the hubbub is all about, an aluminum case which you cant have unless you switch providers.  You are all so upset that you can't have it NOW, I need it NOW.  Isn't there anything else about this phone that is so great or unique that you have to have it right NOW? I doubt it, as most of the features the One offers are equaled or bettered by other manufactures. The only unique thing about it, is the aluminum case, which will probable be covered up by a plastic case protector of some kind.

Keep it up I enjoy the reading.

There is certainly more to this phone than just an aluminium build. They don't say this about a phone w/o good reason: "

If you have a look at our full HTC One review in its international edition you’ll find it to be an easy call for one of the best Android devices in history." from Android community review (http://androidcommunity.com/att-htc-one-lte-review-20130408/). I have heard this proclamation from a few of the reviews. Have you even picked one up or read the reviews? It is a very polished all around device.

Got to admit you are spot on.

I covered my Glacial Silver HTC One over with a beautiful protective shell. Darn you made me smile.

the phone is like you said comparable to other high end phones out there.

read the specs and compare.

I put a poetic clear/gray case on mine to show off that all aluminum goodness. Nice case very low profile/slim.

You know I looked at a simular clear case at another web site. It was $38 and shipping and tax.

Best buy had these great slide in sleeve with belt clip for $30 which is what I purchased. They had an outerbox case for the new HTC One, which looked hideous.

Summit I would rate the build of the One a 10/10 also but that doesn't touch the quality control issues the phone faced when it first came out. A lot of people had defective batteries and gaps. Look at the other links i sent you..

I do agree with what you're saying though, so many people buy the iphone or galaxy months after they're released and no one complains about them being irrelevant. The One should be in the same suite as them.

Klue, I think there are many things the One has over other flagships. I LOVE Sense 5. I would take it over the sluggish touchwiz any day.

Hmm... I'm thinking you might not have a clue.

There is much more to this phone than the case.

Most of the features are not bettered by other manufactures. Maybe equal in some cases, but not better. Does it omit some good features that others have, yes.

There are several unique features.

Sense, the camera, blink feed, the speakers, the display, etc...

My phone will be 3 years old in Sept. It's locking up, I'm on my third battery cover, second battery. It randomly power cycles, I have a white spot on my screen,  etc. I would say I "need a phone now" or darn right soon.

Not everybody here is wanting an upgrade for the sake getting the latest and greatest.

With Verizon now making you wait the full 2 years to upgrade, I would want to make sure the phone I got IS the latest and greatest, so it will last 2, oops I mean 3 years..

How old is your phone and what kind is it?

Did you see that T-Mobile now has a program that allows its customers to upgrade their phone 2 times a year if they want to.  This only costs the consumer an extra $10 a month.  Now only if T-Mobile had more coverage, huh?  The big 2 are not doing their customers any favors forcing them to wait 20 months to upgrade.  Phones can take a beating during that time.  Sometimes upgrades to the OS just don't work as well, due to the need for more CPU power.  I guess VZW is trying to find ways to increase that 67% profit margin they enjoy!

Ahh but what you are missing is at T-Mobile you are paying full price for your phones. Even if under the EIP program you still are pay $60 at six months, or $120 for the year in addition to your full price of the phone. ( And yes I am also a T-Mobile customer) where you can have a choice on Verizon to subsidize your new phone and wait 24 months,or you can pay the phone off in installments and have no contract or upgrade fees. And of course you can just pay the full price with zero upgrade fees and no contracts. With the last two options you can purchase any phone you want when ever you want and you are not paying $60-$120 extra to do it.

"Jump" is just a new way to have more money JUMP out of your pocket. Read all the details at http://www.t-mobile.com

it is not that great a deal.

No, JUMP isn't that great of a deal, but T-Mo's PLANS are. BYOP however you got it cheap (or free, maybe gifted or found it in the trash) and the plans are great compared to all the other postpaids, including Sprint's new plans. $60 for UNL T&T, 2.5 Gig unthrottled data and hotspot/tethering is a terrific deal. And they have HTC One too.
