Please remember that semantically these are two very different statements. "Later this summer" and "Late Summer".
Later this summer could mean June 21, 2013. (which is what I interpret it as)
Late summer could mean August.
I've seen what Verizon tweeted and I seem that a lot of blogs interpret this as "Late Summer"
So again a play on words by Verizon so that they can role this out in the summer. This is why I just do not understand what the heck Verizon is trying to do. What is this "Guess The Date" game?

You're exactly right about the distinction, Bob, and I agree with with your interpretation as well. What possible reason would they have for waiting another 2-3 months to introduce the One? Surely they've already been at work for a while on the usual integration tasks. And would they really introduce it 4 months after the other guys? Is there any precedent for that? I'd bet money on June.

just a theory here.....but if verizon's working with htc on getting it upgraded to the most recent version of android, it could be a year before it's ready....lol

Good news for those waiting on the ONE. I can thank Verizon for letting me test AT&T. AT&T network in my area offers a much stronger signal in fringe areas, home and actually everywhere I travel, which was a huge surprise. I don't want two carriers (4 lines), but I can't see moving back with such a strong network plus giving up the one even for a few weeks to months.
Good luck everyone and hope you get your HTC ONE soon!

Could this be the reason for the wait?

720 on a 4 inch screen still looks amazing. it's probably very comparable to 1080 on a 5+ inch screen
