This is true. I'm kind of curious to see what kind of things happen. As all the other carriers ramp up expansion, we're starting to approach a time when things will change rapidly, hopefully for the consumers benefit.

Eventually, Verizon will have to make concessions for the customers. My bet is that the first thing to drop is data prices. Fingers crossed, right?

This is just too much of a cluster in lack of communication.  All of these different HTC One variants are coming out along with S4 & S4 mini, but still no communication that you could pick up any HTC One phone you want and use it on the Verizon network.

And you will NEVER get a statement like this from Verizon, at least as long as Verizon uses CDMA for their phone service and other providers use GSM. The phones don't necessarily have the correct hardware installed to access the network.

Verizon doesn't sell global phones?

Yes, Verizon sells global phones, but you cannot purchase "any HTC One phone you want and use it on the Verizon network" because an AT&T version will not have the CDMA radios to be able to work on the Verizon network, let alone Verizon would be able to see by the device ID it is not a Verizon branded phone even if it did.

Verizion is a public traded company and is not in the business of making concession to their customers. They make business decisions to grow their company, increase their bottom line and make the stockholders happy. So far they have been doing a great job as their stock is up 16 percent.

Hey Everyone, believe it or not I have a GEN1 HTC Droid Incredible.  Works great have owned it for several years and does everything i need it it to do on 3G speed.  However I have been waiting for HTC to put out a really high quality phone because I'm starting to dabble with video and it looks like the One is it, but just our luck not on Verizon & I refuse to get sucked into some other carrier to get this unit.  Just like everyone else I'm going to sit and patently wait for Verizon & HTC to get their act together to get the unit.  Heck, I've waited this long, what's another couple weeks right?

The only thing I'm concerned about is the "sealed unit" and battery life.  I'm going to stream a lot of video and batteries are batteries, couple 500 or so recharges and their toast.  Anyone out there have experience with battery life with high amounts of streaming video?

Thanks.

Here's something that was said by another poster on another forum, and which i agree with wholeheartedly.

"A lot of people prefer a removable battery for 2 reasons.

1) If your a power user a spare battery helps when your out and about and don't have access to a power socket. Best example I have was when I went to a concert at the Milton Keyes Bowl and needed the GPS on my phone to find my way back into the town. My battery died 1/2 way back which mean't I had no clue where to go. If I had a spare battery that wouldn't have been a problem but the juice run out from taking pictures at the concert etc as well as the GPS.

2) It helps extend the life of the phone if you pass it down to someone else in the family. Most non-removable batteries start to degrade after 2 years and don't hold the charge as well. Unless you have an iPhone which you can take into a store, getting the battery replaced can be a right hassle.

Thats 2 reasons why people like me, prefer a removable battery."

I went ahead and ordered the HTC One with ATT, through Costco...will wait to port my number from Verizon at the end of next week, if there is no confirmation of the One coming to Verizon. Tired of the wait and another article that suggests the HTC DNA update is what is actually coming to Verizon, not the One ( http://www.talkandroid.com/164047-updated-droid-dna-not-the-htc-one-will-land-on-verizon-this-summer...).

That can't be true it just can't be. I do not want another plastic phone. And I don't want an iPhone again

Yeah.....as long as there are manufacturers that will make devices with sd slots and removable batteries, that's what I'll be getting. I only keep my phones on average for about a year and a half......and always end up having to order a battery after about a year. They just don't hold their charge after a while. Heck.....my note is only 7 months old and my screen on time is down from 5+ hours to about 4 hours. By the time it's a year old it will be about 3 hours and I'll be replacing the battery.

I keep my phone until it falls apart. I didn't wait for my last phone (lg env touch) to fall apart because i saw where i could get a smartphone without paying a lot for it, and without paying a lot more for the plan. I just made sure that the phone would be "future proof" for me. Now if VZW was to bring back unlimited data, then and only then, would i even think about retiring my Inc 4G and get a high end phone.
