from the article:

But the carrier usually wants to give a phone one year before replacing it and with the HTC DROID DNA launched last November, Verizon does not want to break its policy. At least, not quite yet.

ummm.....they just replaced the s3 in about 9 months and i suppose the maxx didn't exactly replace the razr (although it sort of did), but that was about 2-3 months. and then the hd. and there have been years where they've launched 3 htc's in the same year? unless their "version" of the One is really more of a DNA 2, then i'm not really buying that excuse. if it's actually a very similar model to the One, then it's not replacing the DNA. at any rate, verizon always has a number of similar devices from the same manufacturer at any given time. i'm not saying it's not coming to verizon, but these articles are getting a bit silly. the One is simply not a version of the DNA. not in the sense that the the s4 replaces the s3 or the iphone 5 replaced the 4s. it's a completely different phone, and if verizon were really getting the "One" then i don't see why it couldn't launch now, while the DNA is still on the shelf.

I agree. Those articles are getting a little bit silly. As a matter of fact, i'm no longer posting on this thread. I'll just wait until VZW makes an official announcement.

i don't think that's a lie. thats pretty good proof of something on its way into retail stores. Plus, HTC was doubling up on production last and increasing into june so i think the rumors of Verizon getting the One before july is pretty good. I want to get the Silver version.

@Klue, I'm just assuming that "lies" aspect of @mkse comment was just him being cynical/sarcastic, which is understandable considering how many such stories have (thus far) not panned out as well as considering how long we've been waiting.  It's a great article though, right?  I read it and it sounds pretty plausible.

Thanks for handling my PR work random64 .

Maybe "lies" was a little raw, but like I've said over and over, evleaks, and all the others have been wrong since the M7 has been talked about on-line.

Nobody and none of these leaks have been right.

The article even contradicts itself in a way. They don't know either.

Trust me, I want this phone more than anybody. I'm 8 months past my upgrade on my 2+yr old Inc. and there's nothing else I will tolerate phone-wise. By the time the One does come out, I would have been a year into my DNA contract.

My friends are tired of me talking about it, they're ticked I can't group text. My internet locks up, I'm on my third back cover and battery. They ALL have iphones and they are pressuring me to get one. (which I would never do, even if I was a sheep).

If I had the money, I would fly to V's headquarters and pickett.

man, the inc was a great phone though.....in it's day. the fact that you're still even uising it says something. it launched 3 years ago. not too many phones that launched 3 years ago are still being used. i gave mine to my brother last fall and he's still using it.

What's interesting about this leak is the slash gear logo visible in the picture of the drop down menu....their link for this story is no longer valid or there. This leak does not seem legit to me. Even though the One is not moving like the S4, it is posting some imprerssive sales number for HTC, considering they spend only a fraction of what Samsung does on advertising. Seems like Verizon would carry the One at some point as it has now shown to have more widespread appeal. I really would like to wait and get it on Verizon, but Costco has a smoking deal on the One with ATT through June 2...

The Costco deal is pretty sweet.  I did it on Sunday and so far my signal from AT&T/HTC One is better than Verizon/HTC Incredible in my main commuting areas (home, work, town with no antenna, and family location) - go figure.  I got a temporary number and plan to port my Verizon number early next week.  I have a few more areas I will be traveling to, but I bet the signal will be equivalent.  I don't plan on giving up this phone ... it is so smooth and responsive.  The fit and finish on mine is excellent and it seems to have all the features intact.

I feel bad for those with network coverage issues.  A real shame.
