I too am a poor TB owner awaiting the HTC One with bated breath, checking daily for news, or SOMETHING. My contract has been up for many months...

Through LlabTooFeR's Twitter, someone named Undefined Drifter ‏(@leaderpvp) states rather confidently that the HTC one will be released at the end of May. Of course this seems unlikely, since the end of May is upon us, and I'm not about to get my hopes way up again after the CTIA letdown -- but does anyone have a thought on the reliability of this source? I'm not sure but I wouldn't bank on it. HTC PR said they'll make a big deal of it and there is only 7 days (1 week) + today left in this month. On another note about llabtoofer, he said there will be a HTC One google edition or something along the lines....

Yet another rumor. I swear, the oems and the wireless carriers, and the tech websites are the tech world's version of a soap opera.

Sigh....I hate to perpetuate speculation on arrival of the phone but Phonescoop received a snapshot from source about a third party advertisement touting sales of HTC One accesories for Verizon. I'll take this with a grain of salt as this may just be photoshopped :

This means nothing.

Ever since mention of the M7 back in January, Amazon has listed accessories for the Verizon One/M7. It means nothing.

As I posted before, at CITA, HTC stated they have no plans for a Verizon One.

The Google version is the S4, and it will not work on Verizon. An HTC Google version wouldn't either.

Face it folks. None of the leaks from anybody including friends and relatives, have been correct. We won't see anything from HTC for Verizon until the fall.

HTC said they would make a stink, there has not been any solid evidence, or proof, like there was with the SG4 and Nokia.

It's not going to happen this summer.

I went to ATT store today and played with the HTC One, and walked away very impressed! The speakers were very impressive. My contract is up June 1, if no hard info on a Verizon release I am walking me and my family account to ATT. Their coverage is comparable to Verizon here on the front range. Where I will notice a difference is in the mountains. I can live with 5-10% of my time with poor coverage to get my hands on a HTC One.

That's true.....maybe by January the DNA 2 will be out. But arrogant Verizon may have finally lost enough customers by then that they might regret their shabby treatment of HTC fans. In Baltimore/Washington area, ATT can give Verizon a coverage run for the money and actually is said to have faster LTE (guess I just better not travel LOL) download speeds compared to Verizon.

At&t does average better download speeds, when you can actually get their lte.

I agree Verizon most likely will lose some customers like me.  Tired of the rumors and worse the new one that says Verizon has it but no release date.  I don't think Verizon will have any regrets or cares, after all they have J Lo.

I'm off to the Costco Kiosk today to get my AT&T HTC One ($129).  Looks like they have a great return policy and minimizes any return costs, if I find the coverage lacking (no activation fee, no restock fee).  They even have a 30 day return for another model phone and 90 day replacement.  The AT&T store does have $100 trade-in for phones less than 3 years old, but they have the activation (can be fixed so I was told on returns) and restock fees.  They will also port my number after the fact, so I can temporarily keep my Verizon line.

If your coverage with AT&T is good, then enjoy it!!

If it was even halfway decent where I live, I'd happily still be with my ONE right now. grrrrr..

You can still get $100 back, though:  http://www.htctradeup.com/

I have the S4 now, and though an excellent phone, does not even come close to comparing to the HTC ONE.

I *really* think that phone is incredible!

Companies learned years ago to NEVER leak out an upcoming release until it is ready to release.  Such leaks have literally killed companies.  Any one remember the "Osborn" computers?  Their first model was very successful.  Everyone was really looking forward to the follow up.  They mistakenly leaked out the upcoming model too early and their sales dried up immediately as everyone wanted to wait for the new model.  They went under.

Not saying that would happen to VZW, but you get the idea.  Another idea could be with the radios that VZW uses.  Perhaps there isn't enough room in the current HTC One for their radios to fit?  Either they are working on it or it won't work?  Perhaps it is a stock issue?  Any reason at all that could cause delays in it being available could possibly stop sales of other phones as everyone waits for an unknown date.

Personally, my Bionic has been up for upgrade since May 8.  My phone goes off contract Sept 8.  However, my wife's iPhone isn't off contract until December.  So, if my phone lasts until December and VZW doesn't have a phone I want, then I jump ship, plain and simple.  If my phone dies before that, I will have to decide if there is a phone I can live with from VZW, or I will have 2 phone providers until December and then ditch VZW permanently.

The Samsung GS4 is a good phone, just was hoping fore the One or a 4.7" phone.  Don't really want a phablet.

Bottom line, I don't expect VZW to say a peep about them NOT getting the One.  But I don't expect them to announce they will have it until they actually have it.  Threats in this forum mean nothing to them.  We aren't even a hair on a pimple on their butts.  My experience with VZW customer relations has rarely been satisfactory.  They remind me a Delta airlines.  They are too big for them to care.  Mergers have made individuals powerless.  In the end, we all have choices, as limited as they are.  If you are off contract, or willing to pay to leave, and want the HTC One now, then you should leave VZW and get what you want now.  I have had AT&T and while their service isn't quite as good as VZW, it was good enough.  If the time comes, in December, and I need to go there to get the phone I want, I will.  I'll even save money as I'm already a UVerse customer.  I'd be a FIOS customer they there wasn't so much collusion in the industry and it was offered here.  But alas, as individuals, we have to eat the crap that is offered.
