I'm out of contract as of May 3rd. I really want the One to replace my Thunderbolt! I'll hang on for a bit, but if something doesn't happen soon, I will have to take my 4 lines elsewhere. It's just a shame that Verizon can't see the mistake they're making.

@greensled, I'm in the same boat as you re: TB (but I've been off contract since Dec'12).  The following explains why, as of recently, I've become slightly more patient.  I would have gotten the DNA if it had 32GB of storage and I was researching whether they couldn't do it or not by looking into eMMC Flash for the DNA and found photos with the chip, etc.

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/htc-droid-dna/230676-htc-dna-disassembly-teardown-done.htmlhttp://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f634/verizon-htc-dna-1585832/

Well, the result is that there indeed are 32GB versions of that chip Samsung KLMAG2GE4A Flash so there's no good reason I can think of for them not to offer it.  However, I also noticed how amazingly cramped the circuit board design is!

Next, when I read the following, I find that different carriers operate different radio bands which have different circuitry and so perhaps it's a significant amount of re-design to achieve a VZW version of the One.  Perhaps it's just a lot more effort (or not really practical) to implement circuitry which meets VZW's radio requirements in the HTC One chassis (which is, after all, smaller than the DNA).

... why did HTC not make the One with microSD card support for Western markets?

HTC Senior Global Online Communications Manager Jeff Gordon answers that question in an interview for TechRadar:

"Because the Chinese version of the One is designed specifically for the smaller Chinese radio bands, we do have additional space inside the device we were able to use for the microSD slot. That space isn't available to us in the global version."

I was devastated yesterday at VZW's announcement. I've been waiting and checking everyday on any new developments.

I think everyone jumping ship should wait at least one more month. I know its hard, but many insiders and reputable news outlets are saying the One will arrive on V 1-2 months after the rest. Some are even saying 3 months. The WSJ even confirmed it and it has been right several times in the past. I also think that there won't be any big stage announcement or anything.. it'll just be available as the Lumia 928 and GS4 were made available.

I sure was not devastated as J-Lo is very eye pleasing in my opinion I liked the announcement and hope to see more out of J.

Why are you assuming it's Verizon's fault? Did you blame Verizon when at&t was the only one that sold Iphone because they signed an exclusive deal with Apple? Did you blame Verizon when At&t singed an exclusive deal to sell the Lumina 920? I'm not claiming to know the reason why this phone isn't on Verizon but you don't either so to just to blame Verizon without facts is just being a obtuse.

Well according to an email I got from HTC which I tried to copy here and a Mod. erased it, it IS Verizon's fault.

"Thanks for contacting HTC Technical Support Center in regards to the release HTC ONE."

"we understand your frustration. Regarding why Verizon is or is not  selling the phone is up to them. They decide which brands and phones are  they going to sell to their customers. You may try to get in touch with  your carrier to ask them to sell the phone to their customers.  Regarding the release date, there is still no official date for this new  phone".

Verizon wants their own version of phones. That's why the DNA instead of original One and One X.

Why would HTC, who needs to sell as many of these phones as they can, not offer it to Verizon?

It's a well documented fact that Verizon strong arms manufacturers and we pay for that garbage.

If/when V decides to sell the One, it will be already months old and once again we will have a dated offering and watch the world get the next version like we are now. Just like the S4 and the Nokia.

@john_doe i think all the signs are there that this is Verizon's fault. HTC is in dire financial straits and is trying to sell as many units as possible, especially of their new flagship phone. For once, HTC is actually doing their own advertising and pushing their new phone rather than rely on the phone companies to do so for them.

Now listen to the comments of the HTC PR rep on his recent yahoo chat: “The DROID DNA continues to be the HTC hero smartphone at Verizon. It launched in late 2012, it’s features still compete with products in 2013. When we announce our next product with Verizon, we’ll make a big deal about it so you’re all aware.”

Why would the head of HTC PR say that their offering from 2012 is just as good as the new flagship phone? He's not. He's saying that Verizon feels that the Droid still stands up to all the current offerings being offered by other manufacturers. Galaxy S4and Lumia928 reviews have been solid if not a little lukewarm as it sounds like they have only slight improvements over their respective predecessors. If these devices (along with the iPhone6) start outpacing the Droid DNA, Verizon will probably release the HTC One. Until then, HTC really isnt losing out. Verizon is still supporting HTC with subsidies on the DNA and ensuring that they deplete their current stocking levels of the phone which allows HTC to ramp production to complete orders that haven't been fulfilled as well as start to build up a surplus. Unfortunately, the biggest issue with this strategy is that customer demand for the HTC One is high and they are relying on the fact that they have superior coverage and people won't leave due to that.

Verizon...or at least the moderator will see this. I have a question regarding your business plan for the HTC one or any new phone in general.

What's the point of having the "greatest" 4G LTE network when all your costumers don't want to use your "useless", for lack of a better word because the moderator would edit it, phones for it?

It's been 143 days and Verizon finally released a decent phone, the Samsung Galaxy S4?! You've got to be kidding me

I agree with and will do what @Danishs said because we've waited this long so why not wait more.

My Thunderbolt lags like crazy and it battery life is horrid... *sigh*

I'm done ranting just hear us out and give the people want they want

Sigh....I hate to perpetuate speculation on arrival of the phone but Phonescoop received a snapshot from source about a third party advertisement touting sales of HTC One accesories for Verizon. I'll take this with a grain of salt as this may just be photoshopped :
