The phone insurance by Verizon is a joke!

No one in the world should buy the @verizon phone insurance offered by @asurion. My phone(Google pixel 2 XL) screen was cracked and they are saying they cannot repair the screen and asking me to replacement the whole phone for $199. They first denied my claim three times with bogus reasons and then they said they were going replace with a DIFFERENT phone. This time, they are asking me to pay $199. Their advertisement everywhere says it's so easy to repair the cracked screen but it's NOT true. I can see someone would start another class action lawsuit and I would join!

If you did is this what they are saying now about the phone?

When the screen got cracked did the phone get wet?

If you sent the phone into them and when they got it

there may have been more damage to the phone then

you or asurion thought.

The phone functions perfectly. I am using it now. It never got wet or

exposed to moisture. I do NOT want to pay the $199 for a screen repair as

the insurance I had was $29 to repair the screen crack.

I agree with you regarding Asurion's coverage with the Pixel 2.  I chose this coverage when I purchased the phone as I was having trouble getting a case and protector in time.  At the time, I thought this was a good decision, because a week later I dropped my phone and scratched it.  They still are not repairing my screen for the advertised $29, as they say they "do not have parts for my device yet".

Is this common with all new phones?  I feel like new screens exist for my device, but there may just be a "grace" period before they offer this price.

Yes, the screens exist and they just don't want to honor the insurance

policy. There will definitely a class action on it later.

Which replacement plan did you purchase.  Verizon offers several. And did you get the printed agreement for your plan in the mail yet?  If not call and request that. Also, did you talk to Verizon customer service or assurion.  The 3rd parties that Verizon contracts with are useless for “out of the norm“ workflows. Those companies are equivalent to chat bots. So if you haven’t talked to a person at Verizon then that’s what you should do. Include all the history when you tell them your Issue.

Yes it’s common with new phones not to have replacement screens.
