After hooking up cable to laptop the majority of the 1100 songs i have are not showing up on internal or external. The majority of the songs were downloaded from apps for free. Some have shown up but not all.

Let's find those songs billyhousemover. It sounds like the 1100 songs you're looking for are on your phone, right? When it's not hooked up to the computer, are you able to see/play all the songs OK? Since you mentioned you had downloaded the songs from applications, many of those applications create a separate folder onto your internal or external memory to house those songs separate from the normal Motorola music folder. If they've been downloaded from multiple apps, you may need to search for multiple folders. That may be why only some of the music has been found. Also, when you're looking on your computer, are you using a specific music player or just looking in your removable disk drive? Windows or Mac?
I look forward to helping you get your music.

Thanks for helping.
I have windows. I am looking in the removable disk drive. I have opened every file that comes up and the songs are in 3 separate folders. I have made sure several times that nothing is still in the phone and the phone shows that nothing is there and that they are all on external card. I am using Poweramp for my music player if that matters. I read somewhere that the files could be messed up some how but if that is the case why do they still play on the phone?
Thanks,
Billy

Can you remove the micro SDcard and mount it on your PC? Your PC will mount it as a USB drive and then you can check everything on the disk. Are you sure the songs are actually downloaded and not in a "cloud" somewhere like Google Music Manager, or some other internet storage service?
