You can mount your SDcard on a PC and try to see if anything is recoverable with free apps like photorec.exe or several others, just Google for them.  Also as mdram4x4 suggested backup.  I have all of my pictures automatically get sent to Dropbox so there is a copy on my phone and Dropbox.  You can also use Google+, Picasa, etc.  Everything else I keep a copy on my computer so if a SDcard goes bad it's no big deal.

I want you to be able to retain all those important memories suzieq2! Are you still having difficulties with your memory card? If your media was saved to the card on the original device, it should populate when you insert it on the new device. Did you have the opportunity to test it in a computer like breezex had suggested?

Sincerely,

Is this a solution for this?

The same thing happens to me; the message says "SD Card unexpectedly removed"... of course it wasn't.

I remove the card, insert it again... and the phone reads it... but after some 20 seconds it is "ejected" again

I can read the card on another device.

Since you can read the SD card in another device, mount it on that device, copy all files, format the SD card, copy all files back to the SD card, put it back in you phone and see what happens.  If you still have problems the card may be marginal and you may need a new SD card.

Same thing happened on my Droid Razr HD. Right after the software was updated,it said "SD card unexpectedly removed..."

Could not get to all my pictures stored on it.  Verizon sent me a replacement phone yesterday and after syncing my contacts to the new phone and loading the apps I used, I was prompted to update the software.  I choose to load it "later".  My SD card was now able to be read by my phone and I was able to see the pictures stored on it.  Today I was prompted to update again.  This time I did and when it was completed, the same problem occurred. "SD card card unexpectedly removed"

When is this issue going to be fixed!!

Frustrated...

I can understand hoe frustrating this issue is becoming fshnhnt. I love keeping my pictures on my device as memories and having an error message each time to access the files can be upsetting. This has been reported by customers and we have some steps that may work to resolve it temporarily. You will need to use the "Files" application to locate and also copy and paste file folders from device memory to sd card and vice versa. Please keep us posted. We are working to get this fixed but the steps above will help.

I am having the same problem with my sd card.  Prior to the os update on Thursday afternoon my pics were all on my sd card.  After the update I got a message saying that my sd card was blank and needed to be remounted.  I took it to a Verizon store and they got the same message when they inserted it into another RAZR M.  After a 2nd visit to another Verizon store they told me to connect my phone to my laptop and wipe the card clean so that it could be remounted...hmm...i tried to connect my phone to my laptop using my verizon/motorola usb cable and message is that USB device is unknown.  I tried it with another usb cable from my kindle (which has always worked in the past to copy pics from my phone to my laptop) and got the same USB device unknown message.  I tried to use support chat this morning and it's not available.  I am completely frustrated by both the help in the stores and the fact that this latest os update apparently has bugs which need to be fixed and most of all...acknowleged.  By the way...the same two usb cables mentioned above connect my kindle to my laptop successfully.  Please advise.
