major problems

Since the ICS update I have had more problems than when I first got my phone. I've had it replaced 3 times already prior to this update! I have done the factory resets but my phone still freezes between screens, while switching apps, and even after ending all that are running. I lose service twice as much as before in places that I used to have full service. Only way my phone works decently is if I'm connected to a wifi (but that doesn't help with calling or texting).  Why am I paying for the data package?

Before I get some idiot that is going to tell me that I don't know how to use my phone. I have done my research and have also worked for VZW in the past. I know the OS upgrade isn't their fault but the service issue is!

I don't abuse my phones either. I have never dropped this phone and have the screen protector as well as a cover on it.

What can I do to resolve this issue until my next upgrade?

If you had researched as much as you say, you would know that radio issues are and have been cropping up and there is nothing user side to be done. You would also know that VZW has final sign-off approval for any s/w update that Moto delivers.
Actually, there is a very good chance that the service issue IS their fault, I suspect an issue with certain towers firmware vs. the Razr's. It could also be a glitch with Moto's I.C.S. implementation. Again, if you look around the forum's you'll notice that people in certain areas are having major radio/connection issues while others have none at all.

With the lockups/freezes: Have you done an FDR and just left the phone 'vanilla' for a day to see how it behaved? I had to do that, it about killed me to leave it 'stock' but it demonstrated that at least the radio issues weren't being caused by a setting or 3rd party app. I have had no UI issues since I.C.S. other than some random strangeness that I attribute to their rush to get it released in Q2.
There is (supposedly) a patch already being developed to fix I.C.S. issues.
