I’m sorry the update is causing that frustration for you! With an update as large as Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), glitches can occur and a hard reset (http://bit.ly/tQ0nkT) can resolve these and get the OS to operate flawlessly. I do recommend ensuring your personal information is backed up to Google before starting the reset. Keep me posted.
