What 'mode' are you in when you connect to the USB cable? I assume we're talking about connecting to a laptop...

I wasn’t very clear was I? I use my Droid to invoice my customers and then using DataViz’ synch routine I transfer all the activity to my desktop.
The mode is “connected as a mass store” also “USB debugging connected”.
When I plug in the USB cable my desktop launches the browser and it is directed to Verizon’s Backup Assistant web page and I have to kill the browser.
Thanks

chuckf,
It seems to be a BUA setting to automatically backup your media or
contacts. Have you looked in Settings/Backup Assistant Plus? I don't use
BUA, but I'm betting you can disable the setting there.

Hello chuckf,
The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx is a great device! It is often used for syncing music, pictures, documents, and more to your PC. You're asking a great question, here. The phone is pre-programmed with a default USB setting to launch the browser upon USB plug-in. No worries, though, this can be changed through a quick and easy process!
When plugging in your Maxx via USB, you will notice a small icon on the bottom right hand side of your computer. It will look like the letter 'M' or a mini picture of your phone. You can simply right-click on the Motorola symbol in the system tray. Change the option to "Do nothing". This will remedy the browser launching automatically. Let me know if this works for you!
Thank you,
