Why does my device say my SD card is blank?

Hello All,

I have had my Droid Razr Maxx for a year and a half. About 1 month ago, the phone started to re-boot itself, sometimes while trying to access an app, sometimes, just stting on my desk. It has gotten to the point of re-booting itself, almost on a daily basis now. Then, last week, it re-booted, and when it came back on, it stated that the SD card was blank. I checked my Gallery, and all my pictures and videos were gone. Some of my apps were gone as well (I believe the ones that were saved to the card). I plugged the phone into my computer, and was able to get back most (I think) of my pictures, but no videos. After this I re-booted the phone myself. All of my apps came back, but still no pics or videos. It is weird because even the games that are saved to SD Card, are working.

Yesterday, I took some more pics, and saved them to the card. Everything shows up on the card, but the card still reads Blank. Wen I go to Mount the card, it says it is Blank.

I have also noticed that using the phone is extremely slow at times. Just accessing my contacts can take almost a full minute.

Can anyone one direct me with some resources regarding issues like this? Or is a visit to a Verizon Store in order? I have been hesistant to re-format my SD Card, in the hopes of my stuff possibly being there.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Bill

Move everything from your SD card to your computer, reformat the card and then move the contents of each folder from the computer to the correct folder on the SD card. If it's just a corrupt file, this should fix it. If it's a bad SD card, buy & insert a new card and then copy everything from the computer back to the new SD card. As far as lag is concerned, go into recovery and clear cache and dalvik cache occasionally to keep it running smooth. Good Luck!
