Do others feel that the audio emanating from their Droid Turbo is poor quality due to much static-like sound?

Enabling Advanced Calling made no difference with the sound quality. The awful sound came from the playback speakers.

A wipe & reboot was also no help.

Went to a Verizon store. Associate there opined that my screen protector position was to blame: it looked to me to be OK. He pointed out that the cut outs barely overlapped the speaker openings.

Applied a new protector with zero overlap:  problem solved 🙂

Do you have Advanced Calling 1.0 turned on? My Father has the Droid Turbo (not the 2) without Advanced Calling 1.0 turned on and his device works great.

Settings > Advanced Calling > Turn on / off. Its worth a try to toggle it on or off to see how your experience is. Keep in mind, many phones with Advanced Calling 1.0 turned off will not allow for voice and data at the same time.
