Upgrade to Android OS for DROID RAZR MAXX HD?

Is there a planned upgrade from the Android OS v 4.1.2 that my DROID RAZR MAXX HD says is "up to date" on my device?  I was considering purchasing an item that is compatible with the Motorola Moto X and S, and states that it's compatible with Android OS 4.3 or later.  Will Verizon push the upgrade from 4.1.2 to 4.3 any time soon?

Motorola says it will upgrade to Kit Kat 4.4 but doesn't say when.

Thanks for the info & the link, which I checked out.

Motorola is, indeed, promising an upgrade to KIT KAT (Android OS?) v 4.4 in the indefinite future for the DROID RAZR MAXX HD. However, when I drilled down a little further, Motorola’s site states that the most current version is 9.18.94.XT926.Verizon.en.US but, while my phone claims that its most current Android OS (KIT KAT?) version is 4.1.2, the “System version” shows up as 9.30.1.XT926.Verizon.en.US.

Do you have any idea if this is significant in any way to the phone’s stated Android OS ver. 4.1.2, or if this just represents a patched version of Motorola’s “Jelly Bean” (4.1) OS release from November 2013?

One update: I just finished an online Live Chat with a Motorola Tech Support rep.

I posed the following question to them:

My DROID RAZR MAXX HD from Motorola claims it's running Android 4.1.2, and notes that the "System Version" is 9.30.1.XT926.Verizon.en.US. This is different than the most current "System Version" on your site, except from the XT926 on. Will Motorola be upgrading these phones to the KIT KAT (4.4) Android OS any time soon?

The rep’s reply said that “it will be upgraded to KIT KAT,” but that they “currently do not have the exact release date yet.” His response included a recommendation to register at this link, <https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/reg/software-upgrade/p/30,6720,8448/incidents.c$us_service_provider/541> https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/reg/software-upgrade/p/30,6720,8448/incidents.c$us_service_provider/541, “to receive email communications for the upcoming Android upgrade for your DROID RAZR MAXX HD.”

I just did and will be watching my inbox for interesting messages from Motorola about KIT KAT.
