Testing now but 30-20% battery drop

Currently this phone is refurbished.

Lately I tend to notice that my battery level will go from like 30%-31% ish to 19-20% in one fell swoop

Using the device at the time, yes...Dependant on the application? Doubt it.  It would be very very hard for me to use the exact same app at the exact same time of seeing 30-20%

Anyways so what I did was put AC charger from 18% to 26%; I then peformed a Factory Reset

*I retreived my contacts
*I set up my Google

*I changed Mobile settings from Global to LTE/CDMA (or whatever); and I chose "allow all trips"

*I launched Google Play and downloaded a % by % battery app called "battery HD" by smallte.ch

After all done I was at 33%; currently as this sentence is being written...31%  we will see

After the drop in battery though, during charging...this battery app goes up..tick by tick....21%, 23%, 24%, etc etc

And of course the default Battery app dont help as it always registers by 10%

But I'm also avoiding using the device outside of just keeping device screen lit so I can see it go from 30-20.

I will let you know but....thoughts????  30% now as I just wrote this sentence; so very very soon I will see if it drops to 29% and 28% in which there was an app installed causing it to do that; or if the device itself is bad Smiley Sad

Gonna update and close this.

So after having a different issue with my cell phone and the battery still dropping I decided to buy a brand new phone outright and check its battery (and see if other issues appeared).  Battery....nope.  However just after 2 days of owning the device; it went belly up LOL so i traded it again.  So far it lasted 18 days without a hiccup and obviously the point of this thread is...

Battery dropping from 30% to 20% in one fell swoop pretty much signified a device problem and not any of the applications I downloaded especially after performing a reformat to factory settings on device.

Personally, I would have preferred to complete the factory reset when the phone was at full or nearly full battery charge. I noticed that the phones don't charge while booting or during the factory reset.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Well I am thinking if i dont touch the phone at around 30% it may drop 1% per; but the moment I open/launch an app it can go from 29%-20% in a split second.

I'm having other issues with the device as it is, so tomorrow I'm going down to a store and buying a brand new device and hope for the best.

If you bought your original phone less than a year ago and this refurb is a replacement, it carries the remainder of your original 1 year warranty.  So if less than a year you should/may qualify for another refurb.  If over a year then you can buy a new phone or send your phone to Motorola for a battery replacement (around $60+-).
