Recent System Upgrade: Removed "Sleep" and "Notification Vibrate on Silent"

Last week, my Verizon Motorola Droid Razr did a system update.

After this update, I no longer have the "Sleep" functionality available when I hold the power button... I only have "Power off" and "Airplane mode".  (Prior to the update, "Sleep" was available between these two.)  This sleep mode was very useful for quick on/off when traveling or going out of cell service area.

Also, when I switch "Sound off" from the lock screen, it used to vibrate for calls AND notifications.  Notifications are no longer silenced?!  I cannot find any way of setting "Notifications" to vibrate.  In fact, I cannot find any place where I can mark notifications to "vibrate" -- under sound settings, it is just a volume bar and when set to silent, it doesn't even vibrate.

My phone is running:

System Version: 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US

Android Version: 4.1.2

Build Number: 9.8.20-72_VZW-16

Build Date: Fri, Feb 1, 20:37:25 CST 2013

When you say "Sleep Mode", are you talking about the mode when you just press and release the power button, rather than holding it in?

No... That "Sleep" is the same as the screen-saver sleep, in which the phone still remains active (waiting for calls and other notifications, etc).

The "Sleep" that I'm referring to was available from the menu that displayed when you hold down the Power button.  It put the phone into a deep, low-power consumption sleep mode.  The phone's CPU was stopped, and no calls or other notifications would come through.  You would get it out of this deep sleep by holding the power button.  Basically the only difference between shutting the phone off and this deep sleep is that it maintains a frozen copy of memory so there was no boot-up time and would resume in the same state that it was when you had put it into sleep.

Thanks for that link... doesn't make me happy... but at least I'm not going insane.

Do you have any further information on the Notification/Vibrate issue?

Have you tried setting vibrate from within the text and e-mail apps?
