I just had to replace my Razr Maxx AGAIN and now less than a month later, the new device won't turn on. I cannot tell you how frustrating this is! I've had it plugged into a charger for about an hour thinking maybe the battery died and then took it to the Verizon store. No one in the store could help me with my phone and the only answer was to order me a replacement device which means that I'll be without a phone for 4 days (unbelievable)!
The phone just totally crapped out on me. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know what I can do? I have tried 10 times to reboot by pressing the Power button and volume down key simultaneously for 10 seconds. That does get the red Motorola symbol to show up on screen for about 15 seconds (as if it were going to power on) but then it goes off as if just teasing me. I have no other phone and now have to wait 4 days.
If anyone has a solution, PLEASE let me know. I'm plugged into the wall charger and showing 50% charge.
Having a similar problem... only 7 days until my two year contract expires. My Droid Razr Maxx won't boot up all the way. It just stays on the "red eye" screen. Took it to Verizon and their only advice was to do a factory restore, which didn't fix the problem either.
Had to have mine replaced back last year, and now it's doing it again... Went to to the factory reset and it's showing "Android is upgrading..." & "Optimizing app X of 20" for nearly 13 hours now. Tried e-mailing Motorola and haven't gotten a response back from them yet either.
If you got the last update I think that is what did it in) mine has not been the same since updating that is why I'm glad i updated to a new Device.. The only thing i do with my Razr Maxx is charge it once in a while to keep the batteries freshen up..
I've been having to rely on mine as not only my only means of communication outside my laptop, but also my clock. I'm kinda fucked without it...and I'm not due an upgrade until November.
Yea I understand when we need our devices the most which is basically all the time, them not operating at there fullest is hard to bear no matter what the time is left on your contract.. Hopefully a maintenance update will come soon to fix this issue..
Let's free your device! It's so important to have a properly working device. You mentioned that the Master Reset didn't work for you. Have you attempted an alternate Hard Reset on the device http://vz.to/19r2DOO? If the alternate Hard Reset does not work, then the device would need to be replaced. How long have you had this device? Any liquid or physical damage to the device? Keep me posted!

I am unable to use you tip for the recovery due to the fact that you have to be able to access the settings menu which I do not have access to because the phine will not power on properly. The phone will not go past the Motorola "M" logo when powering on. This device has no water damage and no scratches it has been kept in an Otter Box since the purchase. I also tried to reset the phone by pressing both volume buttons and the power button at the same time and that didn't work either.
