I was seriously thinking about upgrading from the Droid X to the Razr Maxx. Last week the price of the Razr Maxx was $199, now it's up to $299 again. However, you can buy it from Amazon Wireless for $199. Also, I noticed that the Amazon price for the Droid 4 is one penny. Prices like that are hard to argue with. Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad with buying your Verizon phone from Amazon?

The reason why they are cheaper is because they further subsidize the device. If you ever cancel your contract within 6 months you are subjected to TWO etf. One from Verizon from the initial subsidization and a second from Amazon. I believe smart phones would be $350-10 every month from Verizon and $250 from Amazon. After 6 months(in most cases) you will only be subjected to Verizon's etf.

Also, those super-low Amazon prices for new subscriptions only, for a renewal, they are usually closer to Verizon's prices.
