Razr Maxx charging

I've had my Razr Maxx for about a week.  I've been trying to charge it all day today and it won't get past a 50% charge level.  Any ideas?

you've got several apps that keep updating.

i turn my droid x off & charge for 3 hours with wall charger, usb is worthless & will get a notification of anything i've missed.

I have a regular Razr but I've noticed that it will charge VERY slowly if I do not turn of data/4G/Wifi/gps.  It also makes a big difference if the battery is already below 30% before I start charging.  So try and not to let it get so low and disable all the power gobbling devices.  I think you can get away with keeping 3G on to get text messages but disable everything else.  I have also noticed weird behavior if I use a non-motorola charger so stay away from the dollar store for things like that.  Good luck!

non-motorola chargers are the worst, even a motorola charger from another phone is no guarantee of charging properly.

+1 I wouldn't even let one come Close to one of my Maxx's there are so many things that could go Wrong that could lead to damage of the Device an i would put strong odds that it would Not be covered by the Warranty.!

i haven't had any problems with my razr maxx, had it since april. the only thing i have done different is that i use the "plug in" part that goes in the wall, and i bought a longer usb cord, this is what i charge mine with since i only charge it while i am sleeping ( i have to leave my phone on all the time so i cant leave it off, but i do turn it off and back on once a day). i keep the shorter cord in my backpack with my laptop for when i transfer files back and forth from my comp to my phone.

changing the cord didn't seem to have any effects on it.. i was told that a battery down to around 20 percent should take about four hours to fully charge, and this seems like its pretty accurate.

i am running in a 3g area so i have the 4glte turned off ( until i get the ICS then the option is a lil more difficult)

i also have the battery extender set in the smart actions, and i make sure the bluetooth and wifi are off.

i also read where someone was charging there phone from a computer, and it was taking forever, i guess the comps dont allow enough power through to charge it as fast as a wall charger.

hope this helps

Just my 2 cents.

The wall charger has about 750ma output and a PC with USB 2.0 has a MAX of 500ma out.

SO....

Wall charge of a 3200mahr battery will be slightly over four hours (from a dead battery) when charging from the wall.

The PC is at best a 6+ hours.

If you are using a USB extender port (like a Belkin four port) that isn't 'Powered", you get less than 500ma and it varies by the manufacturer. Also keep in mind the number of devices (keyboard, mouse, camera, microphone, etc) you have on USB. They share the power and will impact the recharge.

Hi, flyboy46-

Congratulations on your new Razr! It's a bummer that its not charging fully for you. Is this still going on? If still within the 14 day exchange period, I recommend having an exchange made. If the device is beyond 14 days and still having the issue, please send me (AdamE_VZW) a direct message for assistance.

Thank you,

Know what I just discovered? The little Apple USB charging cube put's out 1a...interesting. Wonder if that's too much for a Razr or other phone? Surely if an iPhoney can take it....
