Programming a Droid to drop calls from unwanted phone numbers.

Ok, I've been reading a lot of the conversations complaining about people receiving calls from unwanted phone numbers. Having the DoNotCall list is a joke, because the Guvment provided a loop hole where all the caller has to say is their call is related to a charity, some political action committee or you have had business with the company in the past.

So now comes these smart phones, and I can't believe that someone hasn't figured out how to program one at least using the Contact list to have an additional entry of accepting the call or not. If not, then transfer the call to VMH or just plainly drop the call. Heck, my home phone has that ability (but somewhat limited in that only 20 phone numbers can be programmed).

Are there any Android programmers out there capable of writing such an Application?

There are several apps in the Play Store (some free) that have the ability to block/send to voicemail unwanted texts, calls, etc.

You can also create a contact the first time they call and then forward it to voice mail.  All of my outside calls come to my Google Voice number.  I can then block them there.  I don't give out my Verizon Razr Maxx number.

If your phone is an Android, then you have FREE apps that can do the job for you

"Mobile Call Blocker" (by Avanquest Mobile Technologies) for example will allow you to block unsolicited calls AND text messages and also manage blacklist and white-list profiles (easy to switch from a profile to another)

Once the correspondent is blocked then he/she will be redirected to voice mail (or if it's a text message it will just be deleted until you remove this number from blacklist)

Once again, that's free and you don't have to pay for it

you can find above app at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.avanquest.callblocker

Does that app work on blocked numbers?

I have used a number if call blickers but most don't block hidden numbers calls
