several Galaxy models have received the update in most regions, including the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S5, and Galaxy Note 4. Both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were launched with Marshmallow pre-installed.

Each manufacturer has a different schedule for releases. I don’t know why the Droid Turbo marshmallow update is being delayed. Perhaps one of our Verizon friends can help since it’s Verizon (not Motorola) that pushes the update?

Samsung's releases are not in any way related to Motorola’s update schedule. Motorola downsized their staff for OS updates so their previously fast releases have slowed to a crawl. The update won't be ready until Motorola has completed the soak test and they have received technical approval from all parties involved including Verizon Wireless. There has been no mention of a soak test for the DROID Turbo (1) that I can recall on the tech news sites that follow Motorola closely.

If Motorola still has it listed on its update schedule for MM, then it "should" get it eventually. When is anyone's guess.

There is some debate on the Motorola forums as to whether the delay is with Motorola or Verizon. Also I am not sure that it’s true to say that test releases have slowed to a crawl because of downsizing. I know there was downsizing but it could be that they are channeling their resources elsewhere, or maybe Verizon is causing the delay. It’s all speculation at the moment since Motorola and Verizon have said nothing for months about the status of marshmallow for the Droid Turbo. I think that the best answer is to wait and see, or to buy another phone if an update is worth shelling out several hundred dollars to replace a phone that works well most of the time.

Verizon, you are Slacking again...

We want Marshmallow, because it's been what, 10 months since it's release.

The only issue I have is when using GPS on the phone, I can't get the sound to come through the car speakers, it just Mutes the sound, but I can still take calls through the Bluetooth/Car speakers.

I've read that Motorola has released Marshmallow to Verizon sometime ago. I've also talked to a sales rep from Verizon stating that Verizon is having major issues with the software for the Droid Turbo. Not sure if they will even release it now. He just suggested to get other phone that has the update already installed. He is very concerned about OTA installation of Marshmallow even if it is released.

Motorola couldn't have released the update to Verizon already. Verizon doesn't do the coding for the updates. Each phone build is unique to that model. Just because one device has it doesn't mean another model can use that same build.

Not sure if it will ever get released. The Droid Turbo has been discontinued by Verizon.
