Google writes the code, then it has to be embellished by both Motorola and Verizon to make it ready for a new phone. If you look here
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/software-upgrade-news/g_id/1949
and answer the questions, it says that it's still planned to happen.

Check with Motorola. They are the ones writing the code.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Hey RONFLE22, we hear you. Having updates is awesome. What's going on with your Droid Turbo that has you looking for updates? Is everything alright?

David, I don't know what RONFLE22 is looking for. I can tell you from my perspective that there are issues with Bluetooth in older cars which many have complained about, where the calls suddenly get disconnected from Bluetooth for no reason, often the only way to start using Bluetooth again is to switch it off an on again on the phone. Also whereas it used to be possible to transfer a call to bluetooth at any time, now you can't transfer it until the call is actually connected. While it looks as if the call is transferred, it actually isn't.
In addition, most people want Marshmallow because it's been available for many other phones for months now and in fact the successor to Marshmallow is already in the works. Those of us with a Droid Turbo, who have been promised Marshmallow, are still waiting for it. It has a lot of usability improvements.

What's frustrating to me is having one device already using marshmallow, the other still at lollipop. I like them both the same! lol

@LENNYEDGE are you saying that you think there will be an update to Marshmallow for the Droid Turbo today? Do you know someone that received the update on their Droid Turbo? I haven’t seen anyone mention it on the Droid forums.
