Just bought a new Droid Razr Maxx yesterday. WI-FI doesn't work at all.

Tap your Settings >> Go to Wi-Fi Tap on it And when you do) Do see any other Networks Present on my Maxx i'm seeing 15 other Wi-Fi networks it's were i live.. Find your Network and try to  Reconnect to it If you Can't Do a Power Cycle >> Power button + Lower Volume Rocker Hold for 25 sec. Let off let the phone re-power then go and try to reconnect..

Is Auto-Connect Wi-Fi Checked).  if so Un-check it and you might have to Do a System Cache Clear to clear any thing that might be hanging up the Wi-Fi on your Maxx
