By default, anything you download goes to internal storage. You can go into Manage Apps in the settings and move as many as possible to your SD card. Also, move any media to your SD card. That should free up internal storage space.

Try moving some of your downloaded apps to your SD card, that should free up some RAM.

I believe that they go up to 64gb now, however, not all of your apps will be able to be transferred to the SD card. How big is your current card?

And not all phones handle 64 GB cards with grace and reliability. Some people swear by them and some swear at them. Likewise Class 10 cards cause problems for some. I'd stop at 32 GB Class 4 or 6 if you can find one. For my RAZR M that is the current recommendation. YMMV.
