Look, your quotations marks really appeared condescending and I don't need one more issue to add to frustration.  I need to solve this issue ASAP and am tired of being jerked around.  IF you are technically superior to me, great, but sarcasm by "major" was not warranted.

On topic - I don't want an Iphone, I don't like a locked down market, not a fan of Apple.  My issues started with the ICS download and haven't stopped.  Immediately before getting home to read my email on my pc since that's the only way I can respond, I had to hang up on a caller because I haven't synced the bluetooth with my car with this issue,  and the damn speaker phone icon at the bottom of the screen under the caller ID picture wouldn't work.  That's a new one to be added to the list.  I am not using a screen protector which would interfer.

A Smartphone, oxymoron, is required for my job.  I am very frustrated and in this job market it's screwing with my credibility.

Jeez I just saw your shot about trying to solve someone else's problem and it being  my phone.  Please leave my thread alone.  You know full well I'm talking OS programming issue with the Droid.  Go away and actually get some commonsense.

The only thing I would recommend is reloading ICS manually. Maybe that would reset everything.

Thanks, I think I will call Verizon tomorrow morning before my frustration hits another peak like today and have them talk me through it so it's documented.  You gave me the first actual suggestion from anyone, and I didn't realize that was an option.  I'm still open for anyone else venting or Verizon to hop on anytime.

I really think that will fix it. Basically you would reload ICS and then load .215 which fixes the battery drain. I personally don't like ota updates. They cause more problems than they fix.

+1 on letting the store reload the software for you. If you've never done it before and have no desire to enter into that realm, it can be a daunting task to perform.

IKK,

All the forum readers see for your identification is IKK, no Lori anywhere.

Verizon never was Sprint in the past. They may have bought out an old carrier store but they weren't Sprint. The roots go back to Bell Atlantic Mobile and a venture they started, but, we digress.

SHOUTING, will often get you ignored (I did at first). Makes you look more like just a ranter or a troll. The fact that you returned with more information is why I bothered to read more.

Hardware issues are indeed something Motorola should know about. Verizon sells a service, they don't make hardware or create software. Sometimes posting the same issue to the Motorola forum will get you different or faster solution but we still try to help here.

Many other forum posts have addressed the ICS updates, ranting at Verizon about it does little good especially when more people don't have problems than those who do. Again, that's why some of us hang around here, just trying to help the 'unfortunate ones'.

Clearing the cache seems to solve most of the issues that the updates are supposed to fix anyway (at least from what I've been able learn about the updates).

Two phones with same issue? Hmmm...Coincidence... Operator issue....Quality control issue...I'm in agreement with SoccerRef, sounds like a hardware issue to me, not a software issue. Have you tried connecting with the HD dock and using a mouse and keyboard to navigate the phone and generate texts? Maybe use the phone through Web OS (via the HDMI connection). There could be an issue with the touch screen. You reported splotches under the glass, there could be a separation of the film layers that make up the capacitive screen. These questions don't help make you more mobile but they might help with troubleshooting the phone. Or... you could just get a third phone and see if it has the same issues.

Many will agree that the Verizon/Motorola replacement plan isn't very good. I question any refurbished phone and even some of the new ones I've seen. My wife got and HTC Rhyme while it was on special and the first one to arrive by mail had all the appearances of a returned phone (especially when we took the defective phone to the store for the DOA return and saw how they were supposed to look).

Keep in touch.

IKK, I had the same problem on my Razr for about an hour.  I was troubleshooting it and the culprit was the Facebook Application. I removed (uninstalled) the Facebook Application, and removed Facebook from accounts, and did a Factory Data Reset, and the phone works like a charm ever since. Even reinstalled Facebook and it works fine as well.  On my Maxx, I have Never had an issue with ICS.

Facebook does some strange stuff.

I don't even use it, never have on the phone yet when I disabled it in the apps, my battery life increased by 8%.

So, even if you don't use it, it's using you. Typical of Facebook.
