This is exactly what I was trying to explain to you earlier - the only way I could get a driver assigned was to install Windows Mobile Device Center, then in Device Manager manually update each occurance of the 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device' The instructions for doing the driver update - after installing WMDC - are posted twice in this thread...

I don’t mean to be obtuse but there are several different topics posted in this thread. I’m fairly computer savvy and I have tried to follow along but I may have missed something pertinent. I did install WMDC but did not see anything that allowed me to manually update the two items under Bluetooth radios (seen below.) Could you please refer me to exactly which post contains the directions you believe will address my problem?

In all honesty since you have all your drivers loaded correctly, I really dont think there is a issue with the phone or PC that can resolve this because everything seems to be loaded correctly.   I am starting to think that either your wifi dongle or your device does not support the features that you are attempting to access.

If you had a spare dongle I would uninstall the one you have and give another one a try to isolate the issue closer.

That has the instructions. Basically once you've installed WMDC then you have to go to Windows Device Manager, easiest way is to hold the windows key(assuming you have one)and hit Pause/Break, when it appears click Device Manger in the list.

Then for each BT Peripheral Device you'll have to update the driver manually following the instructions in the link above...

Wildman his/her situation is the same as what I encountered when I decided because of this post to test BT w/my Maxx. Your intructions along with installing WMDC fixes the missing driver issue.

If all drivers are installed correctly then I dont get why they are still having issues, this has been reported to resolve this issue for others.

Strange One???

For whatever reason the drivers aren't "there" until the WMDC install - at least that was the issue in my case and it sounds very much like their as well. I'd say very strange. It doesn't appear to be a driver-signing issue, they aren't ever called to install, so they don't.

I followed the directions for manually updating drivers and got the message that no driver updates could be found, go to manufacturers website. Unfortunately, I cannot find any identification to tell me who the manufacturer is. I recall that it was a common manufacturer of accessories but don’t recall the name. I think I’m going to just go buy a new Bluetooth plugin and see if I can’t get past this.

I really appreciate everyone’s help with this but I’m ready to give it up now.

If you are following the instructions from the post you wouldn't see the menu you are reporting, that menu always shows when you scan for new drivers instead of directing it to the driver like the instructions reports.

If you goto Device and Printer area, do you have the bluetooth icon showing?
