Encryption failing. How can I encrypt Droid Turbo?

I have gone through the prerequisites.  Battery charged, phone plugged in, and password set for device.  I press the button to encrypt, it asks for my password, then confirms one last time... then the little green android pops up on the screen for about one second, and the phone reboots.  It never encrypts anything.  I tried the same in safe mode but with no success, so I don't believe it's anything that I have running.

I have read that wiping the phone and then encrypting should work but I sure don't want to go through that hassle for something that might work.  Even if it does work, I don't want to go through that hassle.

Has anyone had success with encryption on a Turbo?  What can I do?

Thanks.

Don't hold me to this, but you may need to put the charger on the phone while encrypting. I know you charged it but it takes a long to do that.

Also, it takes my Nexus 6 a lot longer to but up due to the encryption as compared to my Turbo which boots up very quickly, just to let you know. Good luck.

Edit: ....to "boot" up. Sorry, I'm supposed to be working. Ha.

The charger was plugged in the entire time.  In fact, if the charger wasn't plugged in, the encrypt button was grayed out, so I didn't have a choice.

Thanks for the idea.
