Did they replace your phone? I'm glad that it finally worked for you but understand mine worked great the first few days before the nightmare began. Don't get me wrong they were nice but had no idea how to fix the issues.

The phone and software are fine...its been almost a week...no hiccups. I
love ICS. And I love the Razr... Verizon has always been supportive.
..maybe if you provided some details...they would be able to help. If you
have not altered the phone or the software on it, more than likely they
will replace it if it's simply defective.

Yes Verizon replaced the phone overNight! The IEMI number was not showing
up in the old phone...? New one works perfect with ICS!

Poor reception and dropped calls and missed texts, from the same location that I hadn't had issues in the past. Apps, factory apps not aftermarket apps, turning on and off while the phone is just sitting on a desk. Making calls while the phone is just sitting on a desk. Locking up. This is after a soft reset and 2 factory resets. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about Motorola phones and Verizon. My Razr Maxx was the best phone I've ever owned when it was running GingerBread, I mean flawlessly perfect, but now it's truly a $300 paperweight.

If you search almost any android forum (and the iPhone ones for that matter) for almost any phone, for almost any upgrade, you will always find posts with more explicit versions of "This latest update broke my phone" with details of just how useless their phone is now after the upgrade, and the carrier/phone vendor should be fined/shot/forced to give a new phone etc. Anubis many posts on this are a fairly mild example of this type.
This is then followed by a surprised number of other posters saying "No, it worked fine and is much better for me than the previous versions"
I went through this with 4 upgrades on the Droid 2 Global, each time I saw improvements for me, but for others is was a disaster. We never got a good reason for this difference, opinion divided between user error/apps loaded on each phone/individual variation in the handset. (Also, for this particular model, per Motorola, it had a very high rate of "modification" but that wasn't a distinguishing factor between failure and success either). I tend towards the last "some handsets have issues for some unknown reason" which doesn't much help if yours is one of the bad ones, but it does mean it is worth trying to get it replaced. My lesson learned was that the people reporting problems were probably not incompetent or liars, but those impacted should also remember that those saying "everything is great!" are also telling the truth!

The problem could easily be a installed software bug, this would explain why some has issues and others dont.... ICS is incompatible with a number of apps on the market so if you have any of these apps installed you take a chance of having issues..
Hard Resetting before a major update is always a wise thing in my book.
