Don't upgrade razr to ics....just say no!

To whom it may concern;

Ice cream sandwich software and the droid razr don't work together properly. To motorola, Verizon and google, STOP PASSING THE BUCK. There a too many posts on web and support forums for this to be a little problem. Everyone has battery and connectivity issues. Solve the problem. Either enable a way to install gingerbread back onto our phones or bear the wrath of the consumer through the internet. To the ignorant support person that said ics is a wonderful product, you obviously don't have a razr, because you wouldn't have made that post if you had a razr. WORK THE PROBLEM AND FiX OUR PHONES!

I agree. Though I didn't choose ICS. It was pushed on me today. I just got my Maxx a month ago. LOVED my phone. Now I hate it. Lag, short battery, connectivity, email sux, freezes.I WANT MY CAPSLOCK BACK..and on and on. Screw deadlines, make sure its right before you roll it out. This OS SUCKS and Im now stuck with a new phone for two years that I absolutely hate.

I absolutely agree with you, I used to love my new droid
razr and now with ics I hate it. If this does not get fixed I will be moving on
to something else.

Sounds like a broken record. Moto can't get software updates/upgrades right. I had a Droid X for almost two years. Each time software updates were forced, the phone became a problem filled device.

First off. Wipe your phone COMPLETELY clean. Reset phone, reformat SDcard. Install freshly downloaded apps (not saved apps) one at a time, giving time to see if there are conflicts.

That should solve most of your problems and you will probably have your phone straightened out by the time the next update comes along.

Note: If I find my GS3 has the same issues with software updates, I will admit this is an Android issue, not a Moto issue. Until then, my smartphone software update experiences are based on my Droid X. Your Razr may be different.

You know what's funny about this? If you went back through the threads to June, you will see a bunch of them with people complaining that they do not have ICS yet, and they bought the phone just for that OS. People were hammering Verizon and Motorola about wanting the update, and when it is sent out, everybody complains about it. I am sure Verizon/Motorola would have liked to have tested it a little bit more, but they were up against that end of June wall, and "had" to get it out according to their roadmap.

  Don't comment back to me about how they should have done a better job with it, as I will agree 100% with that statement. All I am saying is that Verizon and Motorola cannot win on either side of the story.

If you would be so kind, I've been an andriod phone guy for too many years and have never had problems like this, which have been registered by far too many other folks on the web/forums. Can you explain the thermal runaway on the batteries? I haven't experienced the other problems many other have complained about but the battery issue has to be related to something with ics. And yes I have checked many of the options that could explain the problem and yet the battery dies quickly. Please enlighten me versus the condescension. Thank you so much. P.S. everyone would be happy if a way to flash back to another version of the os was made available.

There are some issues - many so it appears. The thermal issue is just one of them. For me that went away when I did an FDR with no restore done and wiped the cache. Might give it a try...
