Agreed it still charges, and that is great. The problem is it mounts storage (without the charge only option), so some features do not work on the phone that require SD storage.

After listening to your uninformed blanket statements, I'll opt for scotch over kool-aid. I use wall chargers too, but its nice to have it plugged into my laptop, desktop or whatever while I am traveling without storage mounted.

your way or the highway I guess... go buy an iPhone its clearly more your level.

You guys(?) are really getting carried away with this discussion. Volts/Amps/Watts are all the same, nothing else matters period. If a wall wart has more potential then a particular USB port then it will charge faster and vice versa.

The POINT to this thread was that since you CANNOT go 'Charge Only' you CANNOT use certain things that access the ext_sdcard, and that's A LOT of things, the card will dismount and is then unavailable to the Android OS.

Now, can we ALL go have our drink of choice and just get along?

YES. That is the point either method of charging is fine. Its the storage

issue.

On to that drink...

So i may go ahead and mentioned what i did here in my Post in Future Post's.

Me too.

I rarely have any use in having my phone's memory mapped onto my PC as disks.   That's because I typically use USB for its ADB debugging mode, and that's it.

I would add my voice to the others, that Verizon/Motorola restore back, the "charge only" USB mode into their version of ICS.

I'm a little irritated with the lack of a Charge Only mode as well.  I frequently listen to my music through my car's blutooth system.  All of my music is of course, stored on the SD card.  I used to be able to just plug my phone in to the car's USB slot to charge it, but now it's forced to unmount the SD card making it unaccessible through the phone itself.

are you aware that without "charge only" the phone still charges when connected to the usb.

Yes, I am well aware of that.  The problem is that when I had the "Charge Only"mode, I could charge it AND listen to my music at the same time.  Now, I can only do one or the other, but not both.
