verizons new data plans

I wish they structured it to have a $25 plan for 2 GB or less. I am not using anywhere near 2 GB so $5 less would be better. Oh Well.

Here's my take on this.....

The tiered data plans won't affect our cost at all. I use about 500MB/mo, my wife uses about 600MB/mo and our daughter uses about 900MB/mo. Also, probably 95% of Verizons customers will be just fine with the $30/2GB plans. Verizon has just decided to make the bandwidth hogs pay for what they're using. Also, don't think Sprint and T-Mobile will be thrilled about all their new customers because they'll mostly be high data users that will put additional strain on their already strained networks.

I'll be happy when the bandwidth hogs change to a different carrier, because that just means without the strain the "hogs" put on Verizons network, my 3G data speeds and eventually 4G data speeds will increase. And this will be at no additional cost to me.

This is the way most busineses work.  Use all the data (or whatever commodity you choose) you want, just pay for it.   Do you think you'll ever see Sears having a television sale.....  Whatever size you want, from 21" all the way to the 80", same price, $495.00.

Dirk although i'm not crazy about the New data plans you did hit it on the Berrell head. an you right i geuss we'll just have to live with it.  just like our Fuel an food prices .  there not going to stay the same an it does'nt matter how much We gripe about it you buy it or you'll Starve. an i could stand to shed a few pounds. But still i like to eat like every body els does.

I really believe this is a hit on the illegal tethering users than standard users... I have seen users tethering without paying and bragging about using 50 and more gigs a month and always using as a defense that they are already paying for unlimited data... This will kill that defense.

I use about 6-7 gigs a month just doing everyday task and I do not consider myself a bandwidth hog. I simply use my device in a regular fashion but I am sure when 4g gets more mainstream the 50 or more will increase to 100 and more and Verizon realize this isn't cost efficient for them, so I am not happy with the rates but I acknowledge thing happens.

Speaking of which.  There was a post on XDA which I am trying to locate.  This kid took a screenshot showing he used 175GB and still had 8 days left before the rollover...  The most I have ever used EVER is 8GB and that's using my phone more than I usually do.  I average around 1.2-1.5GB a month.

Wildman as i just checked my Dinc. it says  i've used ( 911788.1 KB ) But that might be the Total for both the Dinc. an my X.  an our plan cycles on the 26 of the Month. So what does that equal out to. or am i even close to worrie if i needed to be .

That's roughly 891MB or .87GB (This is rounded up.  Carriers round up for billing purposes)

Right on the money.... That's 890.4 mg and this means you are not even at a gig yet, 1 gig is 1024 megs so you are doing good so far, that's not to heavy of use.

Just checked my data usage and I was surprised to see that I am, so far, less than one gig. I believe it was 0.78 GB. I was surprised. What with my Emails, surfing the net, and updating apps I thought for sure I'd be way over 2 GB. All I can say is "Surprise!"
