unable to send message

I just got my droid2 global and I just switched from at&t to Verizon. I can do everything but send txt messages. I've talked to customer service reps, tech support level 1 and 2. Also talked to port center and at&t. Even called *226 multiple times. Verizon even gave me a new phone thinking that was the issue. Any ideas on how to fix this? Im thinking its something small that's easily missed

I have the same problem.  According to the tech I spoke with, you can't use any punctuation (except periods), you can't use the tab (indent), and you can't start new paragraphs.  Apparently Google is aware of the issue and claims that a software upgrade will fix the problem.  However, no word as to when the upgrade will come out.  In the meantime, try sending just basic text--it worked for me.

Thank you for your response. However, all I've been trying to do is send basic text messages just trying to see if it works. No puncutation, no tabs, no paragraphs, just one word text messages and it still doesn't work. Glad you found your solution tho!

I would just the phone back, and have the rep make it work before I left the store

Hello,

Thank you community members for providing some troubleshooting tips. It is very much appreciated.

Sometimes, when porting a number over from another carrier, the voice services function before the data services, which can explain why there is a delay in your messaging features not working.

If you are still having trouble sending/receiving text messages, please power off your phone and turn it right back on. Next, send a text message to yourself.  If problems persist, we will need to submit a troubleticket on your behalf. Please call 1-800-922-0204, option 3, from an alternate phone so we can go over some additional troubleshooting steps with you.

Thank you.
