Seeing that you're new here (1 post), did you just Buy the phone??  If so, it seems like you should just return it, pay the restocking fee, and move on to something else.

Otherwise, maybe more specifics about your hate.  We're all here to Help.

I *LOVE* my Droid X  !!

More information is always helpful, the Droid X is a incredible device but of course isnt for everyone... If you explain your concerns we can see if we can help but if you already decided its not working for you then I would take Cody21 suggestion to return and pick a device that is more to your liking..

If you can't update until March 2012, I would guess you got the phone around July or August - about six months ago?  Still not happy with it after that long?  What's the issue(s)?  I had a lot of issues with my X when I first got it two months ago, but with the help of the people here on this forum, I love my phone!

I'm just not happy with the operating system at all.  My previous phone was a blackberry storm, and i loved the phone.  My blackberry malfunctioned the day before the X came out.  A verizon salesperson told me to wait and get the X the next day, because it was suppose to be "the new great phone".  I purchased the X and haven't been happy since! .. I know verizon gives you a time limit to exchange the phone if you don't like it, but it takes me a while to get used to a device, so i gave it to much time and effort, and still is disstassified.  The day after i got the phone, i gently dropped it by accident and the screen cracked.  I dropped my storm numerous, harder times with no problems at all, i have even dropped it on concrete.  My X was dropped on a cushioned carpet and cracked instantly.  This happened in Sept, it is now January and i am still putting up with the cracked screen because i refuse to pay the $90 deductible towards a new phone, which I greatly dislike.

Back to your question about why i dislike the product.  I have all of these applications that came with the phone that are impossible to delete, they just sit on my screen and take up space, though that isn't a huge issue to some people, i am a suffer of OCD and it irrates me.  As for the system itself, i am extremely disstassified.  I feel as if i have to get through may loop holes to get my desired result.  The phone isn't complicating to work, but rather a nussiance.

Also, I am a graduate student in college I rely heavily on my college e-mail.  The X doesn't not work with my e-mail easily such as Blackberry etc., For me to get my e-mail to work, I have to go to the ITS department at my college and have them put in the correct portal information, which is absolutely uncalled for, nor do i have time for that.

I'm also a former BB Storm user, and the good people on this forum can tell you I posted numerous issues when I first got the Droid X.  Thanks to them...I am now very happy with the Droid X!

I'm also slightly OCD but I've never been bothered by the pre-installed apps.  Maybe because of all the other apps I've installed, I never notice them.  If just the sight of them causes distress, you could try Launcher Pro.  That will allow you to hide apps.  (Maybe other launcher programs will do the same.)

Regarding the loops to go through, I've found that I had more key presses to accomplish tasks on my BB Storm than I do on the Droid X.  Try some customizations...browse the App Market...click on preferences in certain programs.  Make it do what you want it to do.

About the email, I do agree that the BB Storm was excellent at email.  However, that was about all it did well for me.  It was simply a hand-held email device.  I work in Health Care, and spend a lot of my day away from my desk going through the entire facility, and I need good email to remain connected.  As soon as I realized that I wasn't getting my email instantaneously but within a minute or two (most times), I was okay with that.  Even when I do have instant email, I often am not able to check it immediately anyway.  Do you have to go to your college's IT department often??  They should be able to set the port info, etc., one time...or at least let you know how to set it yourself if it changes.  I was able to set up my work email in only about five minutes - one time - all through my desktop email.

I was meeting with a colleague today, and he recently got an Android phone from Sprint.  He came from a BB as well.  We talked about 30 mintues about our phones (really geeky...I know).  He loves his Android OS phone and doesn't miss his BB.

As a grad student, take a look at what the Droid X can do to help you in your studies.  The internet is speedy and easy to use.  The storage on the phone is great...you have store a lot of info, papers, etc.

Unfortunately, since you're well beyond your 30-day return period, you would probably need to buy another phone at full cost.  And if $90 is too steep for you, $500 or $600 would be impossible.

I was like you a couple months ago.  I wanted to get another phone.  I thought I had made a bad decision.  I had multiple problems and was williing to pay full price for another phone...honestly, I hated this phone after the first few weeks.  However, thanks to the people here who patiently answered my questions and tolerated my rantings, I really like this phone now.  So, ask questions here...anything you want.   There are some great minds here.

I am sorry to say but most of your issues appear to be because of youe limited knownledge of the phone and os because most of the things you reported as a issue could be easily resolved.

I have all of these applications that came with the phone that are impossible to delete, they just sit on my screen and take up space, though that isn't a huge issue to some people, i am a suffer of OCD and it irrates me.

There isnt any apps that is required to stay on your screen all the time, all items can be grabbed and dragged to the recycle bin to remove them of the desktop.

As for the system itself, i am extremely disstassified.  I feel as if i have to get through may loop holes to get my desired result.  The phone isn't complicating to work, but rather a nussiance.

The menus can be customized and quick launch shortcuts can ve easily added to desktio for quick access so it only takes one click to open a required task.

Configuring most email accounts isnt that complex but some servers restrictions cause additional settings because of the restrictions that the IT and corporation deportment have chose to configure... The only reason Blackberry handles this a little easier is because you do not configure device to connect directly to the corp server but through Blackberrys on dedicated server.  You could have configured the email client to send emails through Googles server in the same manner that BB does, if you chose not to do this of your IT department doesnt have knowledge to do this does not totally make it Android fault.

My X was dropped on a cushioned carpet and cracked instantly.

One thing to concider that BB have a plastic based screens compared to the newer devices that use glass, of course glass can be damaged easier that a plastic based screen... I am really suprised that it broke on a carpet when users have crushed there device amd the glass have survived without issues.

This happened in Sept, it is now January and i am still putting up with the cracked screen because i refuse to pay the $90 deductible towards a new phone, which I greatly dislike.

Paying a 90.00 to have a 600.00 device after having physical damage is not unfair because the damage was not caused from manufacture flaw, I have gad me device without a case and haven't had any issue with the glass so much as being scratched.

A Verizon salesperson told me to wait and get the X the next day, because it was suppose to be "the new great phone".  I purchased the X and haven't been happy since!

If you was unhappy from day one and you chose not to return the device before the 30 day period how can you see this to be Verizon's or the devices issue?

With all said and done the device isn't the issue but the method you chose to handle your purchase,

If ou have apps on the screen that you don't like remove them from the screen, drag them to the trash.

If you hate to see them in the app drawer you can install launcher pro and hide them.

If you can't get your issues resolved you can always send it to me and I will glady dispose it properly. :smileyhappy:
