Took my phone into Verizon today, and asked what was going on and why I couldn't download the new update.. the guy tried, and wouldn't work for him and then another person tried and wouldn't work.. tried it for 35 minutes.. and then he came back and said that I need to do a factory reset... I am scared to do a full factory reset, but I am tried of my phone screwing up so bad. Especially with how I can't update my contacts, it won't sync to anything, my internet is all wacked out.. is it safe to do a factory reset? What happens when you do one?

there have been a lot of wacky issues with the incredible and the updates
when you do a factory reset you lose all your data that isn't on your sd card, and you have to redownload any apps
takes like 15 mins total and you will have a working phone again

It is not all that bad. Just be sure to move any pix and such from the main memory to the SD card or PC before starting.
