I have only had my droid 2 since Oct. We are leaving on a 2 week cruise in 2 weeks and added the global plan to our unlimited data plan during this trip. It is my understanding we will have unlimited email and internet and there is a set charge for texts and phone calls if used. The ship and 1/2 of our ports use the CDMA on our phone. The other ports use GSM. We can get a free rental phone for $9.99 to use while we are gone but there is no insurance plan available so think we will not use that option.
It is my understanding there will be no additional charges from the ship or additional roaming charges in the CDMA ports but I wanted to ask if anyone can verify this and if they can tell me if they had any problems with reception? Thanks so much!
