charge acting up past two weeks
droidcharge1996

SInce last monday I've been expierencing many problems with my Charge. It started with increased battery drain then continued to the phone resetting itself now it stopped resetting itself but instead now turns on and off randomly. This is really frustrating especially considering my last phone had random problems like this too. It's seriously making me regret sticking with Samsung. Any solutions. Thanks.

This usually means an errant app.  I have downloaded a few "updates" to apps that turned into real nightmares, especially when they didn't shut down properly and eat battery life.

Consider what you have installed/updated since the problems started and try removing apps individually to see if you find one acting up.  Often, a subsequent app update will fix these issues as well.

My Charge is remarkably stable in comparison with the Droid X which reset itself at least once a day.

Thanks for the reply I haven't installed any new apps before these problems so I'm not sure that's the problem.

droidcharge1996, having a phone that constantly power cycles is no fun and I understand your frustration. I researched this issue and found it was reported by other customers. We currently do not have a fixed for the reboot issue but have informed our product team and they are working on a resolution. You can try putting your phone in safe mode. Safe Mode temporarily disables all applications that have been installed via the Android Market. Performing this step is necessary to determine whether a 3rd party application is the cause of an Operating System / Application issue. I have listed steps below to enable and disable safe mode. If you continue to have issues, further trouble shooting may need to be performed.

Steps below to enable safe mode

  1. Press and hold the Power button.

  2. Select Restart.

  3. Once the Samsung logo appears, press and hold the Menu button.

  4. Continue to hold the Menu button until Safe mode appears in the lower-left of the unlock screen.
This may take up to 45 seconds.

Steps below to disable safe mode.

  1. Press and hold the Power button.

  2. Select Restart.

droidcharge1996,

Do the safe mode thing just in case an APP auto-updated itself and you did not even know it.

If that doesn't fix it and also because you have had unusual battery drain, fully charge your battery using your 110 volt charger.  Then keep the charger connected and see if that fixes it.  Do this to eliminate the battery as the cause.

Last but not least, do you have a 45?  Don't answer that...I was just kidding!!!
