Does anyoe know the trick to get a X to relaibly connect to a wifi signal? I have tested my X at five locations and the typical connection is either apparently hanging or terribly slow. I can see the X says it is connected but this is terrible, ibet a 1x signal would be faster. One place I stopped the wifi worked awesome but the people who worked there new nothing about the setup. Seems as though if it connects it should work. please advise.

It sounds like the slowness is with the router wherever you are connecting, not you Droid X since you say at one place you were at the wifi worked awesome.
In the places where the wifi connection is poor,why not just use the 3G connection through Verizon? I find it's almost a fast as a wifi connection.
I notice that when i have wifi on many times I see the arrows indicating 3g, assume the droid X is dropping from wifi to 3g auto matically. I have issues with jerky video streams and many times in vcast the droid wil error with file cannot be read error.
