My wife got her ICS update to HER Droid Bionic five or six weeks ago. I called customer support about a week later and asked why hadn't I got mine. I was told it could take up to three weeks to download to all devices. It has been about twice that long. Whenever I go to Settings/About phone/System updates, I'm told "Check for update is not available at this time." I WANT ICS! My wife is having no problems with it on her phone. WHERE IS MY ICE CREAM SANDWICH?????
Have you tried the update check when on wi-fi or cellular data? I tend to get updates to work when on wi-fi.
I also have not received ICS. Have worked with Bionic by Motorola forum andn online chat and tried multiple fixes without success. I never received notice that the update is available. My phone will not pull ICS to my phone through the Settings Menu using About Phone and then System Updates. Motorola online chat assistance referred me to Level 2 telephone tech support. Yesterday by telephone, I had to start with a Level 1 tech who took me through the whole thing again without success, then referred me to Level 2. Level 2 said he had more tools and tried pushing it to me but failed. He says that I must do a Factory Data Reset (FDR) and offered to walk me through it after I backed up. Did not have time to do it yesterday. The Level 2 tech is to call me this afternoon after I have had a chance to back up apps, contacts, photos, data etc and said he will take me through the FDR. If the FDR fails to solve the problem, he says I must send the phone to them. WB
Surprise, surprise. The Motorola tech failed to call me today at the appointed hour that he set, or at any other time. Oh, well.
Did either of you happen to do the thing to your phone that rhymes with BOOT before trying to upgrade?
I tried it with wi-fi on. I talked to Tech yesterday and was told that it's
taking longer than I was originally told for all of the updates to be
rolled out. I couldn't pin the person down on how long I might have to
wait....
The Tech person I talked with didn't get into anything like this with me.
Is the thing that rhymes with BOOT too obscene for you to just name it?

My Bionic is out-of-the box stock. Just like when I bought it and no changes since then, if that is what you are asking. It's still running Android version 2.3.4 just like when new ( I think that's Gingerbread?) and it has system version "5.9.902.XT875,Verizon.en.us." I believe there is something that followed .902 (.905, I think) but I couldn't get that either. For several months, the phone has not been able to access System Updates. Doing that just gives a message saying "Check for update is unavailable at this time. Try again later." But "later" never works either. I saw folks struggling with the system .905 update, so didn't bother with it. But, I would like to try ICS now - even though this forum and the Droid Bionic by Motorola forum have some people who are very unhappy with their ICS update.
