I just don't understand Verizon's take on this whole update ordeal.

I don't mind waiting for the update if something is wrong or needs fixed,But this secrecy and keeping us in the dark rags me to no end. It isn't like we are asking for the world just an answer from Verizon if the update is rolling out or not.

I receive a bill every month for the service I chose Verizon to provide.I am expected to pay that bill in a timely fashion which I do.Is it to much to ask for Verizon to provide us info on that service in a timely fashion as well?

Why won't they answer?Because they know they don't have to.They could care less about keeping us updated because they know they have us over a barrel.verizon knows that when it comes to coverage they have the best network,and where I live it's the only network that provides reliable service period.

They could care less if Joe Schmo moves to another carrier because they know others will take his place and in the end he will probably come back.I think it shows poor customer service skills and a total disregard for customer satisfaction,but at this point it is obvious they could care less.They get our money every month,that's all they care about.

I tried this and It kept saying, aborted!  Was I doing something wrong?

I heard this increases the font.  I can see my emails for nothing, with the small font.

Any help would be appreciated!

@blue

When did it say aborted?

Make sure the battery if above 50% charged before starting (I'd recommend as charged as possible).

I'd leave the manual update alone for the time being unless you're fairly tech savvy.  Too much conflicting information running around.  There are 2 versions of the supposed "official" Froyo build (FRF01b): the one linked previously in this thread and one that someone received two days ago.  The latter is reported to be more stable but you must be on a non-Froyo rom to manually install it.  Otherwise, you'd need to revert back to 2.0.1 or 2.1 and then manually update.

Just to update everyone after using it... I have had no FCs on anything I have ran in the past day.. corporate email is now on par with BB... pandora is working with no change in sound quality... battery is working the same so far (I use ATK).

This is the same build as the non root manual frg01b.

I also downloaded flash 10.1 beta (not in market) and it works nearly perfect. I went to adultswim.com and watched a Squidbillies episode with about two hitches ( one at the beginning, and another when truck boat truck went by in fast sequence).

Looks like more reports of people receiving the FRG01b OTA update are slowly trickling in across the various android forums.  Same build as the previously leaked version but apparently installs differently.  Rather than patching existing system files, the latest release wipes /system and installs fresh.  Your apps, settings and everything else will remain since only system files are touched.
