bump
it's a lot easier to wait for something when you know why you're waiting.

I want an answer too! It seems that Verizon is ignoring its original DROID customers.

To be honest I believe it's sad that they are not providing us an official date.

They haven't provided an official date because things could change. First Motorola has to test it. At any point they could find something big, and have to go back and ask for fixes (or create their own). This would result in starting the testing again. Once Motorola is done, Verizon will test (they are probably doing this in parallel, but Verizon likely won't finish until after Motorola does). Same thing, at any point they could have to start over.
If they provide us with a date, and then need to back pedal, we will all be screaming because they have lied to us. It's a no win situation.
We'll see it when they are comfortable releasing it.

I agree with what you say that they have to test but i dont understand why it takes so long software is already out on droid x and other phones already have flash player and we dont even get that i dont see why the first phone is the last to get a good update on it

Considering that the only phone in the WORLD with 2.2 is the Nexus One, I'm thinking your complaints are a bit premature. As for Flash, it can be had, you just need to search the web for a few seconds. Verizon is notorious for testing features before releasing updates, this should come as no suprise. They want the best possible user experience before pushing an update out. As for Droid owners being a priority, why would they be? Verizon already has your money for the phone, you're not upgrading, their priorty is and SHOULD BE to make money. It's not required that they update your phone at ALL. The fact that they are working on it goes to show that they DO care about their customers. In other words: Calm Down.

you think you're ignored now waiting for 2.2 for the original Droid, you'll never see 3.0. reports say the processor has to be 1 ghz or faster so no gingerbread for original droid. hey, look on the bright side, once you get flash 10.1, you'll have nothing more to wait for either moto or vzw to put you through their finger pointing process of (VZW waiting for MOTO to release update, no MOTO said they're waiting for VZW to okay release - you can't get a straight answer from either one)
I like you am waiting for these two knuckleheads to finally give the okay and update my droid so i can at least go on the pizza hut website or hulu, or any other flash enabled site on the web as promised by their motorola adds back around Christmas time.

But MOTO gave us 2.1 and 'PINCH" that should amount for something, for their efforts right. ; ) I believe the delay is that VZW is trying to figure out how to charge us for some features MOTO placed in the update. check your bill after the update drops.
