I think Samsung & Verizon like messing with us on Gingerbread Updates. I was one of the Lucky ones that got to Exchange My Samsung Fascinate for a Droid Charge. I hoped for the Update and this is a Joke. US Cellular released today Gingerbread for the Mezmerize, Who The Hell is US Cellular anyways, I mean Verizon is HUGE and they can't release it for there MOST EXPENSIVE DROID PHONE!!! COME ON VERIZON!!! WE DESERVE THE UPDATE!!!

On a side note, if you are using Internet Explorer 9, please turn on your compatibility mode for the program. You created a double post/thread when you typed this question up. I have already asked the Mods to delete the duplicate post.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Considering the buggy mess that we have now, I'd take another set of different bugs over the bugs we have now.

Dear whodeycrazy,
Yeah, it's frustrating not to have the latest OS on this phone, which is one of Verizon's "flagship" smartphones.
I am sure it makes you feel better to yell at Verizon on this forum, but many others have tried that before about when GB is being issued and have gotten the same reply - essentially, Samsung is working on it and we don't know when it will be officially released.
So, if I can suggest, take that anger and aim it directly at Samsung. Click here to do so. If you, or a hundred others, or a thousand, gets the message directly to Samsung, it might do more good than venting to VZW here. It hasn't worked so far, and I don't see that changing.
Good luck.

THe official beta is still in testign for GB 2.4.3 for the Charge. There were some intil bugs , once Samsung approves it, then it goes to verizon. Once verizon approves it, then the update can be released. Many Verizon phones are actually slated for the GB update once they are approved. THat includes Droid 2, Droid 2 Global, Droid X2 and others.

I say let them take their time and make sure that the Gingerbread update is reliable and ready for us to use. This phone has some issues, but what smartphone doesn't? I've lived through a buggy, rushed-to-market phone (the BB Storm1) and don't want to go there again. The Charge is a fantastic device as it is. I hope it will only get better once a fully tested GB update is released. Just my 2 cents.

Well we are already at 2.3.6 on the nexus s. Even if we do get gingerbread in the next 10 years, it still will be at 2.3.4. My guess is that when samsung finally does get 2.3.4 out, then it will take another month for verizon to add their **bleep** bloatware to it. By that time there will already be 4.0 (Ice cream sandwich) for the Nexus Prime coming in October.
