Text Messages - Receiving text messages that are all scrambled up with symbols

I just upgraded to the Droid 2 for me & the LG Cosmos for my son. I am texting him, the text looks perfect on my end, but when he receives it it is full of nothing but symbols. Out of the 10 texts I sent him last night 2 of them were unreadable - nothing but symbols. I don't have any idea what is causing that. PLEASE HELP! WE'RE 100 MILES APART & THESE PHONES ARE OUR LIFELINE. Thanks!

Do you have a text signature on your out going text messages?

No not that I know of.  I haven't put anything like that on the phone. Actually I haven't added anything to it since I bought it Monday.

Have you tried *228 then option 2 to update your device? There could be a network error when sending your messages to your son. I would suggest both of you perform the update on your device then try to send the messages again. Let us know if this helps! :smileyhappy:
