Talk to TXT Freezes the phone

Has anyone had the issue where if you hit the microphone for performing talk to txt the Droid X freezes and you have to do a hard power down and take the battery out?

What happens is I go to txt, hit the microphone to talk and it either A) just spins and you can't talk, or B) you talk and it says network not available. When it just spins, like it's loading, and doesn't let you talk, it freezes and I have to take the battery out.

My wife had the same issue so we returned her phone. She was having other issues as well with freezing so it seemed like the thing to do. I was going to return my phone as well at this point if others aren't having the problem If it is a known problem I will probably hold onto it. We got the phones at the same time so I'm wondering if we just got (2) lemons with the same issue?

Thanks

Don't know what to say on this one. My voice-to-text works great on my X except, of course when the data network isn't available, which doesn't happen often.

Good luck, Geri O

The hard reset should resolve this problem for you. The only thing you will lose is your applications since your contacts are automatically backed up. Once you have performed the reset you should be able to use the voice function correctly. The steps for performing the reset are listed below:

Performing a factory reset via settings

The most convenient way to do a factory reset is via the phone settings.

Press HOME

> MENU,

then tap Settings.

Scroll down the screen,

and then tap Privacy

> Factory data reset.

On the Factory data reset screen,

tap Reset phone,

and then tap Erase everything.

Hope this helps.

Mine has had the same issues from time to time but powering down always fixes it. it's more of a nuisance than anything else. It never ceases to amaze me how verizon seems to think the solution to everything is a factory reset.
