I currently have a Motorola Droid, and have just ordered a Droid X. I am wondering how I can switch my contacts and possibly my aps to my new phone. Thanks for your help.
P.S..
I am not real tech savy so if you smart people could dumb it down a bit that would be awesome. LOL.

LoYo1979,
I'm still learning myself, being this is my (1st) droid product, so I'm not sure about the apps other than the apps I've gotten from the market. I've done a factory reset on my X, & I was able to put the apps I got from the market back on from there. Only had a couple of others that were from work, & easy to put back on manually.
As far as contacts, if you have gmail acct. & have ur contacts there I would imagine you should be able to sync them from there. If not, unless something's chngd. in past couple of mns. u'll have to setup gmail to activate the X, & you can import & sync them then. That's what I did coming from bb storm & outlook.
Also I know verizon likes to push the back-up assist., my personal opinion is that the gmail is much more user freindly & is much more compatible w/ what info u can enter into X's contacts, guess that would only make sense being both are google.
I'm sure someone that's way more knowledgeable than me will come along soon & either verify what I said or correct me if I missed anything.
Hope this helps

The apps won't transfer, but the apps are in your market download history. From there, you can download and re-install them again, even the purchased ones.
And yes, Backup Assistant is of no use to Android users. Im just glad that Verizon didn't cripple the Gmail contact sync feature and make us use BA.

I have apps on my old droid that won't show up in a search with droid x, in the Market Place. Does anyone know how they can be found and applied installed on X?
