Suddenly can't connect to Yahoo email? "Incorrect username or password".

I thought I was past all the email headaches I've had with the X. Its certainly not a Blackberry...lol

Everything has been working fine for the last month and now all of a sudden it wont connect to Yahoo. I've tried removing the account and setting it up again. I've tried every different suggested setting. I got it to work and it synced up all my yahoo email and then an hour later it wouldnt connect again. The error message is "Incorrect username or password".  I've entered the correct information.....trust me.

I am at wits end with this phone. The email problems have been going on since the Droid came out. Why hasnt Verizon resolved the problem?

Any suggestions as to what I can do to get my problem correct? I love the phone...but hate the email functionality.

Because I am wondering if its Verizon's issue, I have 6 accounts(3 of them Yahoo Accounts) setup to my device and I haven't experienced any issue retrieving email to or from any of them.  When you received this error have you tried to check data connect and signal, on my Windows Mobile devices if signal was weak the device would give that error but if I get in a area with a better signal and try again the connection completes.  Maybe you are experiencing a similar issue.

I've tried accessing Yahoo email from other locations. All with strong signals. I've tried access with Wifi on and Wifi off. I've stood on one leg with my arm in the air.....lol. Nothing seems to make a difference.

Just for grins, when you get this error, can you get to your GMAIL email account?  Just to rule out the actual connection. I'm with WM on this...  I never have an issue with my YAHOO email, unless I've lost the data connection for some reason.

Gmail is fine and my bellsouth is fine. I've had the same trouble when I've travelled out of state.....yet had strong signal.

I've tried every differnt port setting suggested in other threads. I've done a lot of research trying to figure this out. Very odd....

Since you are able to recieve all other accounts without issue and Yahoo seems to be the only one with issues why are you assuming it is Verizon issue, have you checked with Yahoo in your area because it sounds like it could be a yahoo issue.

Not a Verizon issue...a Droid issue. My bad...I see I stated verizon in the first post. I meant to say motorola.

 You can search the internet and find many people have had the same thing.. I've had lots of problems with bellsouth also....and so have many others. I still cant , and never have been able to, send an attachment with my bellsouth account.. I had a Verizon Blackberry for years and never once had trouble accessing yahoo or bellsouth. I dont want to switch back. I think the Droid is a cool phone......but if I'm paying $30 for a data plan and need to get my emails I expect to get my emails.

I amy not sure its even a Android issue becuase not everyone is experiancing this issue, I would suggest double checking your settings with yahoo tech support and make sure there isnt any server updates going on, if you question the default settings select the option to manually set server information and input the correct information, I have to do this with my Roadrunner account..  I really think there is a little setting that you are somehow overlooking.

Call me silly, but if you're getting "incorrect username or password"  I'd say it has to do with your username or password.  Delete your username/password and input it again.  Also make sure you are using the correct password in the first place.  I've helped many people with their phones and it turned out to be that they changed their email password on their computer but did not think to update their phone.

If that checks out, check your connection and server settings to include security requirements.

Have you tried the official Yahoo email app from the marketplace?

My son's girlfriend has been using that and it is working fine for her
