Speech to Text Issue

Vanessas_vzw, I am having the same issue and your work around did not work. The system is not recognizing my contact list, so that seems to be the problem. How do I fix this?

Here is the way I do it, it's easy, and it works every time.

Go to messaging and press create new message.  The curser will be in the TO space so touch that empty space.  Next go to the bottom of the where the keyboard is and touch the microphone symbol.  When "Speak now" comes up say the person's name to whom you wand to sent the text message.  A list of items re the person who is in your contact's list come up.  Touch the person's mobile phone number.    Then go down and touch the message area and again go down to the microphone touch it and speak your message.  When done touch SEND in order to send the text message.

This also works for email if you choose email instead of messaging.

In the last sentence of my previous message I said it works with email and it does.  The difference is that when you first touch the TO space you will have to go then right and press the + icon to get the person's email address.  You cannot dictate the person's name to get the email address as you can with messaging.  Yes you can still dictate your message.

Verizon's system would NOT let me edit my own message therefore this added note.  I did not realize they stopped the edit feature.

This is a recent change; there is still an edit feature, but you only have a five-minute window from the original posting for edits.

tikibar1,

Thanks for the update.  To bad it's so short that if you post and immediately re-read you message finding a mistake your time to edit has already expired like mine did.  At least 15 minutes would be better.
