Someone I know sent me a text message. The notification proplerly came into the notification bar, the text message count went to one, (with only the basic txt msg software that came with the phone) but when I went into the text messaging app (the one icon on the homepage along the bottom) that particular text message did not appear. I reset the phone, pulled the battery, cleared the cache, cleared the notifications restarted the phone and even uninstalled any other txt software that I installed. Still the problem persisted.
Teir 2 tech sent me an urgent text and told me to clear it, restart the phone and that should solve the issue. It did not solve the problem. Then, I sent myself a couple of texts, then hit the menu button, while still in the txt list, and "deleted message threads" and that seems to have worked.!!!!
