SD card

I am trying to get used to my Droid X.  This is my first smart phone, can anyone tell me how to store of my SD card from my phone or is it just if I bring something off of my computer?  I am taking some beautiful pictures with my phone but I am scared I am going to run out of room.  I thought that all pictures and music went to the SD card and stored.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

Your phone should be storing your pictures and other media on your SD card automatically.  You can also transfer files to and from your computer with your SD card.

When I look on the screen that shows the storage on the SD card it tell me that the numbers are the same ( 14.93GB total and 4.93gb available.)so am I right to assume that there is nothing on the SD card?

use a file explorer on your phone and go to your SD card, this will tell you exactly what you have on the sd card.
